Automation question.

This morning I noticed some automation behavior that confused me. I'll get the volume of a track set to where I want, then later, I may need to do some automation. I'll click the volume automation box, and the fader on the track pops back up to zero. But the actual audio volume doesn't seem to change. Can someone explain this? I mean, if there's a logic to why it does this, great, but I'd like to know the reason. I haven't noticed this before, but that could just be my selective memory again. lol Thanks, Euro

when selecting the envelope try clicking the arm box to the right i believe that should work.and in automation mode select read

Yeah, Read seems to work. But am I crazy, or did the fader not jump in Trim/Read until recently? I really don't see the logic behind having a carefully set fader jump to zero when applying an envelop, but I'm willing to be convinced. What is the benefit? Thanks again, Euro
