Reaper doesnt seem to be reading my controller

ive gone to devices and set my controller to enabled + control, then gone to the keyboard control page and tried to assign a controller to a vst setting. when i click on the add box and move a controller it doesnt seem to be readin it. also with the likes of camel phat that has built in midi learn it wont work either. the keyboard itself is working fine and the standard midi cc assignments also work, i.e pitch bend and mod wheel etc. im using an oxygen 8 controller and it shows up as keystation in my midi devices page. help?

Hello walsh350 and welcome to these forums. You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information. Let's check that MIDI CC messages form the controller are reaching Reaper: -- arm a track for Recording, select the "keystation", All channels -- click [Record] and record a MIDI clip -- twiddle the knobs on the Oxygen, -- double click it to open it in the MIDI Editor -- change the view to Event List You should see the MIDI CC messages there. If all is OK, can you describe the steps you took to assign a controller knob to a VST parameter? HTH

Put js MIDI logger as the first plugin and see if any data at all is getting through. Steve EDIT too late!

thanks peeps, didnt need to do any of that in the end. i uninstalled my midi drivers then ran a registry clean and reinstalled the latest driver version. still a bit weird though as the keyboard and the controll knobs were working fine with reason and cubase. anyway its sorted now. all working lovely now i know how to assign a controller to literally anything. also was a bit confued when trying to use the midi learn built into camelphat untill i realised that reaper has its own midi learn. fantastic stuff!

I am having a similar problem, though it seems that the cc commands are coming through ok when i do as you suggest. I can also automate knobs within certain vst's for example albino, perfectly well. However, if i try and assign a knob on my oxygen controller to anything in the reaper envolope window using the learn function, it simply does not pick anything up. Does anybody have any sugestions as to what might be wrong? Thank you.
